2 days ago ยท To adjust the headlights on a 2006 Avalon, follow these steps: Park the car on a level surface facing a wall or garage door about 25 feet away. Locate the headlight adjustment screws. On the 2006 Avalon, these screws are located on the upper and lower inner side of each headlight assembly, accessible from the engine bay.
UNPLUG CONNECTIONS FOR THE LIGHT WIRING. Remove the two plastic clips and the 4 X 10mm bolts from the top of the grille. Remove the 8mm bolt from below each headlight. Remove the plastic clips securing the light wiring. Unplug the two connections for the active grille at the top of the radiator area.
Check light beam for proper height aiming: a. The top of the low beam pattern should align 2โ below line B. b. The high beam of light should be directed straight ahead. Properly adjusted headlights project a concentrated beam of light and should center on line B. High beam adjustment is illustrated below. Adjust headlight aiming if necessary.
Park the vehicle 25 feet away against a wall on flat surface. Measure the distance between the vehicle and the wall. Turn on fog lights. Measure from the fog lights center to the ground. Mark the exact height of the light on the wall (use the marking tape). Adjust the fog lights so that they face about 4 inches lower, than the marks.
Ensure the headlamps are on a low beam. Use masking tape to mark the horizontal and vertical lines of the beam's centre axis as it shines on the vertical flat surface. The tapes should create a cross. Now measure the difference between the headlamps. Check the lines to see if both lights have the same measurement.
With the headlights on turn the outer upper adjuster clockwise or counterclockwise. This will move the headlight beam up or down. Once this is centered in between the horizontal tape line, locate the innermost adjuster, then turn the adjuster to move the beam left or right. Make sure the beam is centered between the vertical and horizontal tape

Get a flat road towards a wall. Point the car at the wall about a foot from the wall. Mark the location of the main beam, back up ten feet and see where the beam differs. There's a nylon adjusting screw behind the headlamp that you turn to adjust height. If they're right. Just turn them down a touch more. Reply.
Turn the headlights ON and adjust the vertical aim of the headlights so that the top horizontal cutoff of each of the beams is located along the LOW BEAM line on the wall. 2. Adjust the horizontal aim of the low beam headlights so that the point at which the top cutoff of the beam begins to slope upwards is located as shown in Diagram 3.
