If an instrument is improperly oversprayed, and the new finish doesn't bond with the old finish, then it may be possible to remove. Jim.
It is possible to repair superficial scratches to the pickguards and finish of a guitar. Apply pressure to the pickguard with a 90 degree angle by rubbing plastic polish on top of it. The guitar top can be broken if the guitar is pressed too hard. It is a good idea to allow the polish to dry completely in a haze.

Yes and no. The back had color, but, the clear finish was blistered so I had no choice but to try to remove it. And it doesn't want to be removed. the underside of the neck and the sides are the same way. The finish is blistered and sun damaged. Honestly, had the description included how bad the finish really was, I wouldn't have bought the guitar.
