I am going to have to try this method. Thanks. you need to backup existing hard disk content to external hard disk, install new hard disk, reinstall CFW then restore backup. This is what i did, and it worked fine. The ps3 has its own backup utility, and it was really straight forward. Your mileage my vary of course.
